Christmas Garland
Christmas garland was a tradition followed in America introduced from Europe. The early settlers made and sold Christmas garlands to earn income to make Sunday clothes.
These greens that they sold were gathered in the evening and were twisted into garlands to an extension of twenty to forty yards garland. These garland had pine, spruce as well as cedar trees found in the nearby woods.
Christmas greens slowly became less in the countryside and this brought the introduction of artificial Christmas green and foliages in plastic. The realistic look of the Christmas garlands and the quality made it a permanent Christmas décor.
The technical advances created a beautiful Christmas decoration and the varieties and availabilities of colors are endless. These garlands can be hung on the doorways and also can be gifted. |
